Internal & Executive Communications
Record-breaking engagement strategies, high-stakes experience
Executive Communications
I have built communications strategies to help leaders (from C-suite to managers) achieve critical success factors in areas such as:
High stakes presentation development (Board of Directors, Investor Relations etc.)
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
ESG and social responsibility
Innovation storytelling
Mergers and Acquisitions
Employee engagement, setting records with multiple organizations for response rates
You could say that my words have done yoga, but that might be a stretch.
Mission, Vision & Values
I’ve built and refined MV&V platforms in big industries but some of my proudest work came with smaller clients.
With exploding growth, a tech CEO knew he needed to shakeup his values framework. But, he couldn’t lose the startup vibe that was so crucial to recruiting and retaining the talent he needed to scale right.
We looked beyond corporate BS language and identified the values that employees with at least one of three qualities share: high engagement, long tenure and high performers.
From focus groups, to writing and brainstorming a fun launch, I helped ensure the values at RTS Labs are not just a poster on the break room wall. They reflect who they are, and act as a decision tool to help them become who they want to be. They aren’t even values. We call them constants. See why below.
Social/Thought Leadership
Our COO wanted to engage employees and customers on social but had to prioritize leading operations for the nation’s fourth largest utility.
I developed a content strategy that cultivated her genuine involvement and voice, but minimized her time in production. Together, with the help of teammates, we doubled her followers, giving her the most of any executive in the Fortune 200 company. My approach became the company benchmark for other executive social tactics.
In addition to the Bayhealth Sussex Campus, I named hundreds of locations and practices across the health system.
Naming and Brand Architecture
I have named things like apps and employee programs but the stakes were higher when our CEO client asked me to revamp their health system’s entire naming architecture, beginning with the $320M state-of-the-art hospital and specialty centers they were building. With the governor and other leaders behind it, the greenfield site was primed to be an epicenter of community growth for decades.
Believing they should position themselves as more than a hospital, I convinced internal and community stakeholders to emphasize the word campus over hospital. The final name, Bayhealth Sussex Campus, takes ownership of Sussex County’s health and challenges the people of Bayhealth to be the forward-thinking community asset that campus evokes.
Event and Interview Preparation
From Fortune 200 C-suite execs to governors and senior military officers, I’ve helped leaders prepare for appearances across multiple platforms, both in-person and virtually:
Speechwriting, coaching and keynote programming
Press conferences
Interviews
Town halls and panels
Crisis Communications
I have real-world experience advising senior leaders on communications for these challenging events:
M&As/force reductions
Data breaches
Labor and contract relations
Jobsite property damage and fatalities
Protests
Legal and ethical episodes
Pandemic response (Ebola and COVID)
Nuclear Emergency Response Organization communications
